What to do:
1) Assemble your important paperwork in one location; birth certificates, passports, insurance papers, wills, list of medications and on. If you have to evacuate in a hurry you will want to know that you can grab everything quickly.
2) Identify important medications and vitamins for your household and think about getting 1 month to 3 months extra.
3) Set aside a bag for your house and your car for use to carry essential supplies in cause you have to make a quick evacuation. If you have multiple people in your household they can all have their own bag. We will refer to this bag as a ‘go bag.’
What to buy:
1) First aid kit for your house and your car. You can make your own first aid kit, which is less expensive than buying a premade one; yet it can be more time consuming to make your own. This first aid kit should be small enough to go in your go bag if need be. Depending on the age of the people in your household you can have some basic first aid items in every go bag.
